I have recently become Chairman of the Club for 2015 despite only joining about 3 yrs ago as a complete novice who had previously only really taken family and holiday photos. I have learned a huge amount from other members, judges, and visiting speakers and, whilst there’s always much more to learn, at least now I have some ideas about what helps to make a good image.
Many club members develop their own style or tend to concentrate on certain genres; I’ve become interested in black and white photography, and also enjoy experimenting with HDR techniques (which doesn’t appeal to everyone’s taste!).
I’d encourage anyone to join the club, regardless of ability and experience. In fact even if you simply have an interest in looking at images rather than creating them, our weekly programme has a lot to offer.
