Hi, I am Roy Dolan and I joined Ashbourne and District Camera Club in September 2015.
I am a retired teacher and have always enjoyed taking photographs, but only relatively recently got into using DSLR cameras. I have previously owned a Pentax DSLR and a Nikon D3200. I am currently using a Nikon D7100 as well as smaller Sony and Nikon compacts. I also have two older Pentax film cameras, which I am still ‘attached to’.
I recently completed a digital photography course but I am finding out that as with driving, you really only learn how to ‘do it properly’ after the ’test’.
The club is full of lots of friendly, helpful people and I am sure the quality of my photographs and my skill set will improve with their help over the next few months and years.
